Blue Moon
Blue Moon wasn't just any old club: it was a performance venue, and that still shows today. Our vision is simple: to create a nighttime experience that's refined, discreet, and free of unnecessary chaos. Here, entertainment isn't just a pretext: it's the focus.
We're in the heart of Rome, but we don't caricature the nightlife. We create a club that combines history, stage presence, and hospitality, with a genuine focus on comfort, privacy, and the pace of the evening.
OUR HISTORY
From the 1970s to today: a true Roman story
The Blue Moon is one of those places in Rome that has been around for generations. Public records date it back to the 1970s and 1980s as an adult cinema in the city center, right on Via dei Quattro Cantoni.
Then came the turning point: the mid-1980s. During that period, the venue entered the Roman nightlife scene for one specific reason: not just screens, but live performances. It's also here that the figure of Riccardo Schicchi comes into play, recounted as one of the protagonists of that era and as someone who found a "Roman base" in the Blue Moon.
Since then, the Blue Moon has become one of those venues that never disappears, even as decades, fashions, and styles change. At various times, it has been cited and featured in the culture pages and city schedules as a striptease/entertainment venue featuring well-known names in the industry, a sign of a rare continuity in the Roman scene.
In more recent years, the history of the venue is described as a rebirth/reopening under new management and a restyling (summer 2021), with the idea of maintaining tradition but updating the layout and atmosphere.
In short: Blue Moon is a slice of Roman nightlife that has never been turned into a museum. It's remained a vibrant place.
GUESTS AND FAMOUS PEOPLE
Faces, icons, and moments that have made history.
When a venue spans so many years, it carries with it names and legends—and some are documented in the public narrative of that era. Blue Moon has been associated with the era in Rome when erotic entertainment was also a spectacle and pop culture, with figures who later became iconic.
In that world, the names that defined an era are the same ones that have filled newspapers, TV, and the Italian imagination: Cicciolina, Moana Pozzi, Eva Henger (and the Diva Futura universe). It's not "nostalgia": it's the history of the Roman nightlife and Italian customs.
EXPERIENCE & ATMOSPHERE
Blue Moon is designed for one thing: to help you unwind from the noise of the city, without throwing yourself into the chaos. The atmosphere is dark, theatrical, and direct: you walk in, sit down, and you immediately know where you are.
Here, the night has a precise rhythm: welcome, room, music, show. There's no need to "explain" too much: you understand it in five minutes. And when it really works, the same thing always happens: you don't leave saying "I've been around," you leave saying "I've been there."
